Hello! I’m Kevin Lim, a Cambridge scientist turned musician.
If you’re anything like me, you might have spent years of your life wishing you’d learned to play the piano when you were younger.
Feeling like it was too late, it would be too difficult, take too long…
Well, a few years ago while looking for a quiet place to do some work, I ended up in a music room in college.
Sitting there I looked at the piano and thought to myself with a sigh, “it would be nice if I could play the piano”.
But then I thought, what if I just tried? Maybe if I pressed the keys and was willing to learn, the piano would teach me its secrets.
A few hours later, I had the basics down. And I kept going back week after week until I could play my favourite pop songs. Now I improvise soundtracks to live shows ;)
It’s crazy to look back and think where I’d still be if I hadn’t taken that first step. My piano journey started that day and it changed my life.
